Default Welcome back to FanHome! and to the Expos board...

Something that we lost in the way, but it was very active.

Though it's off-season in baseball, it's always nice to follow what's going on with the ex-Expos.

Can't believe Frank Robinson has finally been fired!

Cheers!

Being a Met fan, I really miss the Montreal Expos. I just don't think that the Nat's really fill the void that was left when they moved from Montreal.

The Expos had so much grounding that the Nationals could never hope to be what the Expos were.

Keep teh flame lit for baseball in Montreal.

Where are all the old Expos posters like Big Owe and the other old FHers?

I was on the Expos board quite a bit as I was big following Felipe Alou.
I believe in his way of baseball and still do. He was a great manager
and never recieved the credit he should have.

I live in Columbus, which now has the AAA team of the Expos/Nationals,
the Columbus Clippers. That is a really good thing, I say... as it means
we no longer have to root for any Yankee farmhands which I hardly
ever did.. save for Jeter, Cabrera, J T Snow, and Nick Johnson who is
of course a National, and is my favorite all time Clipper.

About 4 years ago, Nick J. played in the futures game in Seattle on Monday,
then played in Denver in the AAA All Star team on Wednesday, and
then on Thursday night came back to Columbus, where he played in a
DH.. hitting 2 HR's, 2 doubles, going 6 for 8 and had 10 RBI.

He was/is truly a pure hitter. I hope he comes back full steam in 07, and
sets the national league on fire.

Yeah, it's quiet so far, but there are something like 4 different Expos boards around different places. Not sure if we'll have a large migration here or not.

Seems our moderator big owe is lost, but i think i saw youppimustdie the other day at the bell center the other day, still shadowing our orange friend. ayways, hope the administrator will give me my old membership back.

Several fanhome posters came from the baseballboards site i think. Didn't fanhome bye out that site and transfer its members? With the fate of the expos in rapid decline, i had never posted on fanhome after baseballboards shut down but continued to view our faithfull expos fan posters. I should think fanhome has some record of those legendary threads. Come to think of it, perhaps our system administrator could find a way to pull out those threads. We could relive the gameday threads that always caught fire.

FanHome never "bought out" baseballboards, basketballboards, etc. They were all run by the same person, Kevin, and FanHome was the way that he unified the site. There was than a merger with TheInsiders/Scout, this reawakening of the independent FanHome is because we want to back to what we were, and not the diminished site that the merger made us.

As for the data from 8 years ago? I'll follow up with Kevin, but I don't think we have those records

Sure, whatever (sounds like the jargon david samson made us swallow). But thanks for your standoffish welcome back.

Anyways, I've found several of our compatriots still beating the drum at "baseball fever", including the perenial poster mickey s.

Sorry that you don't feel like contiuing to carry the flame from baseballboards to the present with the one site.

well, I have to say that I don't recognize too many people from this board...slamminwilkie...good to see a familiar name. Are there other boards that the poster flocked to when the other fanhome closed?
