Dave Stubbs reports from the Bell Centre that Saku Koivu has a fracture of a "little" bone in his left foot. The captain left the building around 2:30 this afternoon on crutches with his injured foot in a walking brace. He will miss the final three games of the regular season, with evaluation ongoing for his playoff participation.
Mikhail Grabovski will take Koivu's spot on the second line. Mark Streit and Guillaume Latendresse are practising today and may play in Ottawa tomorrow. Francis Bouillon was examined today and is listed as wait-and-see, though it seems highly unlikely he'll play tomorrow. Mike Komisarek skated with strength and conditioning coordinator Scott Livingston before the team's 4 p.m. practise. Here is the audio of head coach Guy Carbonneau's press conference from this afternoon. Comments from players will follow this evening.
