Default Carbo on Sagueneens battle with Remparts

Canadiens head coach Guy Carbonneau will be the featured guest this afternoon on an NHL teleconference with international media. To follow here later this afternoon will be the transcript of that call.
To begin, a few comments Carbonneau made to Montreal media today regarding the battle between the QMJHL's Quebec Remparts and the Chicoutimi Sagueneens, Carbo a part-owner of the latter club.
The Canadiens held off-ice workouts today. Forward Guillaume Latendresse, who missed the last two games with neck spasms, was riding a stationary bike today and is expected to practice tomorrow, the Habs flying later in the day to Buffalo where they'll meet the Sabres on Friday night.

Carbonneau on the QMJHL situation, quotes assembled by The Gazette's Herb Zurkowsky:
"You know, as an owner, there's always two sides to every story. For us (Chicoutimi, the suspensions and fines are) not severe enough. For Quebec, it's too much. The league made a decision and we must live with it."
"No one likes to see these (things). I'm not saying I don't like fights, more the gestures that were done ... running the goalie ... those things I don't like to see. Especially when a guy doesn't want to fight. But (the Remparts) were down 7-1 and were trying to change the momentum."
"A lot of people in Quebec saw the clips on TV and are outraged. They're the ones calling the police, so (the police) have no choice (but to investigate)."
"I always talk to Patrick a couple of times each summer ... we golf ... and I see him at the draft. He's still my friend. It's not because we're rivals that I won't talk to him. I'm anxious to see his reaction and (hear) how he dealt with it. I went to war with him and won championships. I've never seen him react that way. Look, we were separated in 1993 and a lot of things can change. That's not the man I know. But he's the only one who knows what happened. It's always exaggerated when Patrick Roy's involved. It makes it bigger."
"If you do something to change the rules or coaching and this doesn't happen again, I'm all for it. But if there weren't 4,600 in the place and it wasn't on TV, we wouldn't be talking about it."
