Default No time to sulk for Lapierre

Maxim Lapierre believes the Hamilton Bulldogs have the talent to take another run at the Calder Cup.
But the 22-year-old doesn't want any part of it.
"I'm working as hard as I can to get back to the NHL," Lapierre said in a telephone interview from Hamilton this week.

Lapierre said he was disappointed when the Canadiens sent him down to the American Hockey League farm club, but he said he didn't have any time to sulk over the decision.
"I knew that if I wanted to get back to the NHL, I had to show the Canadiens that I was willing to work."
Lapierre came out of the first week of the season as the AHL's No. 1 scorer with four goals and four assists. He scored six goals and six assists in 46 games with the Canadiens last season before returning to Hamilton and helping the Bulldogs win the AHL
title. A centre when he was in Montreal, Lapierre said he has seen action as a right winger and that's where he'll probably play when he gets his next shot at the NHL.
"I'll play wherever they want me to play," he said.
Lapierre wasn't happy when he heard a Montreal radio commentator suggested he let his stint with the Canadiens go to his head and that he neglected his training in the summer.
"I know the only way I'm going to make it is by working hard and last summer was no exception," Lapierre said. "I worked out every day with (Canadiens strength coach) Scott Livingston. I did my power skating and, in the evenings, I would do sprints up a mountain."
While Lapierre has handled his demotion with a determined attitude, reports out of Hamilton indicate the same isn't true of Jaroslav Halak, who lost the backup goaltending job to rookie Carey Price. He had a lacklustre return to Hamilton and was bombed in his second start. That reopened the door for Yann Danis, who has allowed only one goal on 47 shots in his two appearances.
