Default Danis, Kostitsyn among Habs' 27 cuts

The Montreal Canadiens sent 17 players to the American Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs on Monday.
Among the cuts are goaltenders Yann Danis, Loic Lacasse and Cedrick Desjardins and defencemen Andrew Archer, Mathieu Carle, Jamie Rivers, Mathieu Biron, Jean-Philippe Cote, Jon Gleed and Pavel Valentenko.
Forwards heading down to Hamilton include Mathieu Aubin, Ajay Baines, Matt D'Agostini, Sergei Kostitsyn, Janne Lahti, Corey Locke, Eric Manlow, Duncan Milroy, Ryan Russell, Cory Urquhart, Francis Lemieux, Thomas Beauregard, Jimmy Bonneau and Gregory Stewart.
Danis, Archer, Biron, Locke, Rivers, Urquhart and Milroy must clear waivers before formally joining the Bulldogs.

Danis, 26, has six games of NHL experience with a 3-2 record and 2.69 goals-against average in 2005-06. He played 44 games in the AHL last season, compiling a 23-14-5 record and a 2.81 goals-against average.

Kostitsyn, the younger brother of Canadiens' forward Andrei, scored 131 points, including 40 goals, in 59 games last season for London of the OHL.
The team also returned forwards David Desharnais, Ben Maxwell and Ryan White back to their junior teams.
