My predictions for the main card:
Heavyweight Fight Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic vs. Gabriel Gonzaga I think it is already a foregone conclusion that Cro Cop will win. Gonzaga has some decent BTT skills but Cro Cop isn't all that bad on the ground himself. Cro Cop by KO late first; early second round. Light Heavyweight Fight Michael Bisping vs. Elvis Sinosic Another match that shouldn't be all that competitive. Sinosic was thrown to Bisping in front of Bisping’s home crowd to make him look good. Sinosic probably shouldn't be fighting anymore. Bisping by TKO first round. Heavyweight Fight Andrei Arlovski vs. Fabricio Werdum This is probably the most competitive fight of the night and a fight that could go either way. If the fight stays standing it is an advantage to Arlovski; if the fight goes to the ground the advantage is with Werdum. Werdum has already gone the distance with Big Nog. I'll say Werbum by submission in the third round. Light Heavyweight Fight David Heath vs. Lyoto Machida Too bad we couldn't have seen the Machida-Griffin fight that would have been a battle. Machida resume is a lot more impressive than Heath’s with wins over BJ Penn; Rich Franklin; Stephan Bonner; and Sam Hoger. Heath has wins over Victor Valimaki and Sean Salmon. I'll go with Lyoto Machida by decision. Heavyweight Fight Assuerio Silva vs. Cheick Kongo Assuerio Silva has faced a lot stronger opponents in his career than Kongo. Some of his loses came to Tim Sylvia; Brandon Vera; and Aleksander Emelianenko. Kongo is coming off a tough loss to Carmelo Marrero at UFC 64. I'll go with Silva by KO in the second round. |

Arlovski v Werdum was an awful match. It should have been declared a tie just because that isn't the level of competition that UFC should be promoting.
Though Arlovski dominated the first round the other two were just flat boring. The rare times that I watch MMA of any kind I want to see fights, not dances. When I want to watch dance I will watch Dancing with Stars. I first watched MMA back with UFC 1 and stopped watching when Gracie didn't return to defend. I tend to enjoy good fights with some back story or intriguing stylistic matchups. This had neither.
