Wild’s Rolston earns All Star honors By Derek Felska | January 13th, 2007 In a day that probably has a smile on the face of the Wild’s captain Brian Rolston as he was selected to play in the 2006-07 All Star game as a representative of the Western Conference. It is the first time the 33-year old Flint, Michigan-native has ever been selected to play in the All Star game. That might surprise some people as he has been a regular part of Team USA’s roster for the Olympics. Rolston has been the Wild’s captain all but the month of December since the beginning of this season, and as the leader has appropriately led the team in scoring so far this season with 41 points (23 goals, 18 assists). Always considered to be amongst the league’s best defensive forwards, he has enjoyed an offensive renaissance since joining the Wild having his career best season last year with 79 points (34 goals, 45 assists). The former Lake Superior State star is the State of Hockey’s 4th All Star selection joining Marian Gaborik, Dwayne Roloson, and Filip Kuba with that honor. It is most definately an honor Brian Rolston deserves.
