As we Approch the one year anniversary of Kirby Puckett's passing, I was thinking of some of the parallels between his life and the life of Elvis Presley... here are just a few

Both died relatively young (46 & 42)
Both were born into poverty : Tuepelo Miss, & Chicago Ghetto
Both have a loyal following who defend their idols
Both died while engaged to new women (Ginger Alden & Jodi Olson)
Both fiancee's were with their men when they died, only difference is Ginger was asleep when Elvis passed.
Both were first yr inductees into their respective Halls of Fame
Both are in other Halls as well (Country Music & Sports Humanitarian Halls)
Despite what has come out in the past couple years, both made and enjoyed doing charity work.
Both had image tarnishing publicity at the end of their lives

These are just a few that I have come up with and they are not that far fetched... any thoughts, comments?
