Game Preview: Raptors at Bucks

UP NEXT

Teams: Milwaukee Bucks (16-18) vs. Toronto Raptors (15-20).

Where: Bradley Center. 60-104 76-123

When: 7 tonight.

Broadcasts: TV - Fox Sports Net cable. Radio - WTMJ-AM (620).

About the Raptors: They headed out on their three-game trip this week thinking it was an excellent opportunity to create some separation in the hotly contested Atlantic Division race. Yet they ended up yielding first place in the division by losing to Tuesday night to New Jersey. After playing the Bucks, the Raptors will close out the trip against division rival Boston on Friday. The Raptors were confident as they left Toronto since they had been playing solid defense and were as healthy as they had been in a long time.

Bosh, Ford Lead Raptors Past Short-Handed Bucks

MILWAUKEE, Jan. 10 (AP) -- Chris Bosh and T.J. Ford knew they'd let an opportunity slip away the previous night. Luckily, neither had to linger on their poor performances for long.

Bosh scored 30 points and tied a career-high with six blocks while Ford added 15 points and 10 assists to lead the Toronto Raptors to a 90-77 victory over Milwaukee on Wednesday night, handing the short-handed Bucks their fourth straight loss.

"We carry the team,'' Ford said. "We can't have people shut us down.''

Toronto has won three out of four and are tied with New Jersey for the Atlantic Division lead after losing to the Nets 101-86 on Tuesday night.

Targeted attack

With the injured Michael Redd, Mo Williams and Charlie Villanueva on the bench in street clothes, forward Ruben Patterson and center Andrew Bogut have become marked men for the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Toronto Raptors centered their defense around smothering Patterson and Bogut on Wednesday night, and the result was a 90-77 victory at the Bradley Center that extended the Bucks' losing streak to four games.

Game report: Wednesday at a glance

ON THE COURT

PLAYER OF THE GAME:Chris Bosh came up big for Toronto, scoring 30 points on 11-of-16 shooting and grabbing eight rebounds. "I thought Chris controlled the paint," said Toronto coach Sam Mitchell.

PLAY OF THE GAME: Bosh got the Raptors off on the right foot in the second half, scoring a three-point play to start the third quarter and give Toronto a 57-46 lead.

STATISTICS SHEET: The Bucks made 5 of 19 shots (26%) and scored 11 points in the third quarter. "That 11-point third quarter just kind of took a little bit out of us and we really couldn't recover after that," Bucks coach Terry Stotts said.

OFF THE BENCH: Stotts went pretty much with an eight-man rotation with Ersan Ilyasova, David Noel, and DanGadzuric the main reserves.

Bosh, Ford bury Bucks

MILWAUKEE–Pride is a powerful motivator.

Chris Bosh and T.J. Ford knew what people were saying about them, what the comments were after their collective disappearing act against the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday and they knew those same critics would be watching intently to see how they reacted here last night.

And that's where their pride took over.
