Preview: Bucks vs. Denver Nuggets

UP NEXT

Teams: Milwaukee Bucks (16-17) vs. Denver Nuggets (16-15).

Where: Pepsi Center, Denver.

When: 8 p.m. Monday.

Broadcasts: TV - Fox Sports Net cable. Radio - WTMJ-AM (620).

About the Nuggets: With players coming and going, they're searching for some chemistry and the schedule isn't doing them any favors. The Nuggets, who suffered recent losses to the lowly 76ers and Hornets, have games coming up in the next two weeks against San Antonio, Houston (twice) and Cleveland. The Nuggets are 3-5 since the suspensions of Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith and are 2-5 since Allen Iverson joined the team. They will bring a season-high, five-game losing streak into the game.

Dynamic Duo Leads Nuggets Past Bucks

DENVER, Jan. 8 (AP) -- The Denver Nuggets finally found a team as depleted as they are.

Marcus Cambyreturned from a one-game absence after aggravating his broken right ring finger and had 19 points, 15 rebounds and seven blocked shots in Denver's 104-92 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night.

The Bucks were without injured guard Michael Redd and lost his backcourt mate Mo Williams during the game.

The Nuggets know how Milwaukee feels. Denver has been without the NBA's top scoring tandem since Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith brawled with the New York Knicks last month.

Bucks' rash of injuries continues

Denver - When it rains, it pours.

As if the Bucks' injury situation wasn't bad enough heading into their 104-92 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Monday at the Pepsi Center, it only got worse during the game.

The Bucks had announced before the game that they expected to be without guard Michael Redd for four to six weeks and that the future of forward Charlie Villanueva remained uncertain. But then, guard Mo Williams suffered a left shoulder sprain late in the first half and did not return. His status after the game was uncertain.

Coach Terry Stotts has always been one to write off injuries as just a part of life in the NBA but even he had to admit that the Bucks' injury woes had become rather disheartening.

Fast start equals smooth finish

For a fan of the Nuggets or anyone associated with the team, the last sight you want to see is a wincing Allen Iverson limping into the press lounge to conduct his postgame news conference.

But that was the scene when the star guard struggled in to talk to the media after taking X-rays on his right big toe following the Nuggets' 104-92 win over Milwaukee on Monday night at the Pepsi Center.

Nuggets buck losing trend

It was a duel of the depleted.

Both teams entered Monday night with plenty of bodies missing or ailing, and it only got worse. But at least the Nuggets could feel relief about breaking a five-game losing streak with a 104-92 win over Milwaukee at the Pepsi Center.

The Nuggets, without suspended Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith, lost Eduardo Najera in the first half with a left shoulder contusion and had star guard Allen Iverson aggravate a toe injury.
