Preview: Bucks vs. Cavaliers
UP NEXT Teams: Milwaukee Bucks (16-16) vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (19-12). Where: Bradley Center. When: 7:30 tonight. Broadcasts: TV - Fox Sports Net cable. Radio - WTMJ-AM (620). About the Cavaliers: Their victory Wednesday night in Boston was their fifth in their last six games and moved them into a virtual tie with Detroit for first place in the Central Division. They have struggled on the road, though, where they have won just five of 14 games. The Cavaliers have been trying to build some momentum before heading out on a seven-game western trip next week. Gooden’s Big Night Leads Cavs Past Bucks
MILWAUKEE, Jan. 5 (AP) -- LeBron James' final assist of the night was in the locker room, shooing the horde of reporters toward Drew Gooden first. With James struggling, Gooden scored a season-high 31 points and matched a season high with 16 rebounds to lift the Cleveland Cavaliers to a come-from-behind 95-86 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night. All out of whack
Fourth-quarter collapse sinks Milwaukee On a night when LeBron James had his lowest-scoring night of the season, the Milwaukee Bucks failed to take advantage when they performed their biggest fourth-quarter nose-dive in some time. The Bucks were outscored, 21-4, in the final 6 minutes 41 seconds, made three of 16 shots (18.8%) in the entire quarter and fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers, 95-86, Friday night at the Bradley Center. The Bucks made one field goal in the final 7:12, a meaningless dunk by Michael Redd with 14 seconds left. JSONLINE |

Friday game report
ON THE COURT PLAYER OF THE GAME: Cleveland forward Drew Gooden was a thorn in the Bucks' side all night, scoring nine of his 31 points in the fourth quarter. He also had 16 rebounds. "Drew was fantastic," Cleveland coach Mike Brown said. PLAY OF THE GAME: Forward Brian Skinner had one of the more impressive blocks of the Bucks' season when late in the second quarter he emphatically swatted away a shot in the lane by 7-foot-3 Cleveland center Zydrunas Ilgauskas. Michael Redd hit a three-pointer on the other end for a 46-43 Bucks lead. STATISTICS SHEET: Missed free throws were costly to the Bucks, who made only 18 of 29 from the foul line. OFF THE BENCH: Bucks center Dan Gadzuric grabbed eight rebounds in 16 minutes, despite playing in the second half with a knee injury suffered in the first half. JSONLINE |

Gooden gets 31, LeBron 8, it's enough
Milwaukee- Cavaliers coach Mike Brown knows how to get his team's attention. Late in the Cavs' come-from-behind 95-86 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night, he slammed his clipboard on the Bradley Center press table and broke it, slightly cutting his hand. "We are getting stops," he screamed. Cleveland Plain Dealer |

Cavs' victory is third straight
MILWAUKEE - Some 13 months ago, LeBron James sat downtrodden in the tiny, sweaty locker room at the Bradley Center and lamented that his 52-point game couldn't get the Cavs a win. Friday, he smiled broadly in front of the same locker, taking comfort that his eight-point night meant sweet victory. His euphoria was exceeded only by that of his head coach, even if it came with a bloody hand. It's a new year, and a new Cavaliers. These are the new, defensively dominant Cavs, and it has made them more resilient by the game. By flexing their muscle without the ball, they overcame James' offensive absence to wrestle a 95-86 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. Akron Beacon-Journal |
