Williams, Bucks Roll Past Heat
MILWAUKEE, Dec. 20 (AP) -- A beaming Mo Williams compared his first career triple-double to another important event in his life. "It's just like having your first child,'' he said. Williams, who has two children, finished with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, and Michael Redd added 28 points as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Miami Heat 121-95 on Wednesday night to extend their home winning streak to five. "It's a great accomplishment,'' Williams said. "Jason Kidd, he gets so many, you know another is like, OK, is that 75? This is one for me.'' NBA |

Mo better news
Williams records triple-double in well-rounded victory It was, as they say, a total team effort by the Milwaukee Bucks Wednesday night at the Bradley Center. The Bucks had several key contributors in the 121-95 victory over the defending champion Miami Heat. And the Bucks pooled their forces in the final minutes to assure that guard Mo Williams was able to record his first career triple-double. Williams - who had seven points, four rebounds, and one assist in the first half - finished with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists as the Bucks ran away from Miami in the second half to extend their home winning streak to five games. Williams' triple-double was in the books after rookie forward Ersan Ilyasova sank a three-pointer with 2 minutes 53 seconds left to give Williams his 10th assist. JSONLINE |

Game report: Tuesday at a glance
ON THE COURT PLAYER OF THE GAME: Mo Williams was getting worried late in the game that he would not get the one assist he needed to complete his triple-double. "Because I knew (coach Terry Stotts) wasn't going to give me too many trips down the floor to get it," said Williams. "I'm glad it happened real quick." PLAY OF THE GAME: Bucks rookie Ersan Ilyasova sank a three-pointer with 2:53 left to give the Bucks a 116-84 lead and Williams his triple-double. Ilyasova said the orders he had received had been direct. "Pick and pop," he said. OFF THE BENCH: Yes, they still love Gary Payton at the Bradley Center. When the Heat guard entered the game for the first time late in the first quarter, the fans were booing him as he approached the scorer's table and before he could even get on the court. He was the booed virtually every time he touched the ball throughout the game. STATISTICS SHEET: Williams is the 15th player in team history to record a triple-double. It was the 43rd triple-double in franchise history. Guard Charlie Bell, who had a triple-double last season against Phoenix, was the last Bucks player to record one. "We're even," said Bell. "I've got a couple more left in me, but it's a little difficult for me from the (shooting) guard spot. Mo has that ball in his hands and is able to do a lot of things with it. But I'm happy for him." Bucks beat inconsistent Heat
MILWAUKEE - Mo Williams had his first career triple-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and Michael Redd added 28 points as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Miami Heat 121-95 on Wednesday night to extend their home winning streak to five games. Redd and Miami's Dwyane Wade, who finished with 27 points, put on a scoring show early, but Wade became mired in foul trouble and began settling for jump shots. With Wade not driving and no one else for Miami stepping up, the Bucks extended their defense in the second half and went on an 11-0 run early in the third quarter capped by consecutive layups by Williams to take the lead for good. Wade picked up his fourth foul with just over four minutes to go in the quarter, and only scored six more points the rest of the way. Miami Herald |

Wade can't do it all alone
MILWAUKEE · The night began with Heat guard Dwyane Wade receiving a warm embrace from his college town. The Milwaukee Bucks then proceeded to suffocate the life out of the rest of his teammates on the way to a 121-95 victory at the Bradley Center on Wednesday, the Heat's most-lopsided defeat since its 42-point opening-night loss to Chicago. "They turned up their intensity," Heat power forward Udonis Haslem said, "and we didn't match it." While Wade often rekindled memories of his Marquette magic with 27 points and eight assists, he essentially stood alone. Sun Sentinel |
