Default Bobby Simmons Season Over?

Quote:
Bobby Simmons, who's heel injury has been slow to improve, may require season-ending surgery.

"We're not optimistic," general manager Larry Harris said. The team expects to know more later this week, but pending an official announcement that surgery is a necessity, it's almost time to throw in the towel on Simmons if you've been hanging on to him.
Bucks' Simmons could miss the season

Would you Bucks fans consider this a big loss? Or, do you think Ruben Patterson will fill in just fine (if Patterson is in fact Simmons' replacement)?

It a loss in the sense that the depth for the SF position is pretty weak. Ruben has done pretty good this season starting all 17 games. It's just that there isn't alot of depth at the foward position with CV gone too.

We are starting Bogut, Patterson, Redd, Bell, and Williams right now.

A bit of an update from Rotoworld:

Quote:
Bucks forward Bobby Simmons will undergo the first of two surgical procedures on his right foot on Dec. 18.
Bucks general manager Larry Harris said on Wednesday that it is not yet clear whether the surgeries will end Simmons' season. "He is going to be out an extended amount of time," Harris said. "It hasn't been determined how long." Harris went on to say that Simmons needs three separate procedures to correct the problem, which will be done in two installments. Simmons will have arthroscopic surgery Dec. 18, and a second procedure a few weeks later.

Update on Bobby's first surgery
Quote:
Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Simmons underwent successful surgery on Monday to remove bone spurs on his right ankle, general manager Larry Harris announced in a statement.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Richard Ferkel at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute in Van Nuys, Calif.

A second procedure has not been scheduled yet but also will be performed by Dr. Ferkel. That surgery will address a cyst in Simmons' right heel bone and plantar fasciitis.

Simmons is expected to be out for the rest of the season
