Arrow Craig Counsell Signs

I'm just watching the FOX 6 news right now and they said that the Brewers are trying to bring him back.

So what do you think. Any thoughts?

I mentioned this about a week ago on another message board and think it is a good idea. We need a veteran to back up the middle infield and it looks Graffanino wants to play for a team where he can have a chance at starting and that is not going to happen here.

If Craig comes back things are going to be different than the first time he was here, where I admit I wasn't happy to see him in the line-up each day when he wasn't hitting and at the time taking away playing time from a young Bill Hall. But a back-up role I can live with. He can still find a way to get on base and is still capable of producing a .330 to .350 OBP which isn't bad.

It's a done deal. Counsell is coming back to the Brewers.

Here's how the contract breaks down...

Quote:
Counsell gets $2.8 million in each of the next two seasons, and the Brewers get a $3.4 million option for 2009 with a $400,000 buyout. If Counsell is traded, he also gets a $2.8 million player option for 2009.
