Default Arbitration Eligible Brewers

So here's who we got

Chris Capuano
Bill Hall
Doug Davis
Kevin Mench
Brian Shouse

Capuano has proven he is a front end of the rotation starter and deserves a long term deal.

Bill Hall. This is the guy I want to see play for us long term. We had a chance to sign him long-term last off-season but when things couldn't get worked out by opening day talks were cut off to not serve as a distraction.

Davis had a tough year last season.

Mench I think has to be gone. Since coming over in the Carlos Lee deal he did nothing impressive.

Shouse, I don't know a lot about the guy.

Top priority this off-season is to get Hall signed. Get a center fielder and trade Jenkins for sure maybe Mench for pitching help.

Well now instead of Davis we have Estrada and Vargas for arbitration.

Here's what Davis would have costed us
Quote:
"Doug is definitely interested in being in Arizona," agent Steve Canter said. "He definitely would like to be with the D'Backs for a long time, and I think they're very interested, too." Davis would likely ask for about $8 million per year to stay with Arizona beyond 2007. He's likely to command $5 million-$6 million in his final year of arbitration.

In October under Milwaukeebrewers.com it was reported he wanted a three year deal for 7 million per.

As for the new Brewers Estrada made 2 million last season and Vargas made 1.275 million last season.

Yeah, It was clear that Davis was going to get more and I understand they might of wanted to get reid of him becouse it was more then they would of liked.

But I'm sure Estrada and Vargas a due for more but not that much for atless another year or two.
