Post Former Brewers Coach Dave Nelson Back as television analyst

Quote:
MILWAUKEE -- Former Brewers First Base Coach Dave Nelson is joining the Club's front office staff as television analyst and manager of Brewers alumni relations, it was announced today by Brewers Executive Vice President - Business Operations Rick Schlesinger.

"With over 40 years of experience as a player, coach and broadcaster, Dave is a perfect fit for this new position," Schlesinger said. "He has great knowledge of this organization, which gives him the tools to provide a unique perspective as an analyst and continue to develop our interaction with the Brewers alumni."

In his role as television analyst, Nelson will serve as an analyst for pre- and post-game shows for home games televised by FSN North. His work in building a Brewers Alumni Association will include hosting periodic events for former players, involving them in community and team activities and developing a recurring publication to be sent to all alumni. Nelson will also work with the Brewers Community Relations Department to enhance the Brewers Speakers Bureau in fulfilling requests for speakers at events throughout southeast Wisconsin.

MILWAUKEE -- Former Brewers first base coach Dave Nelson will return to the team next season in a new role, serving as an analyst on pre- and postgame television programming and managing the club's alumni-relations efforts.

"I am ecstatic about coming back to the Brewers," Nelson said in a statement released by the team on Tuesday. "When the opportunity first presented itself, I thought it was an outstanding position, because I have a special affinity for the Brewers organization and the city of Milwaukee. This role will be both challenging and exciting, and I am looking forward to beginning this new experience."

Default Nelson joins broadcast crew

Fox Sports Net North has not decided all the specifics about how it will use former Milwaukee Brewers coach Dave Nelson on Milwaukee Brewers telecasts.

But FSN North is looking to lean on Nelson for his inside baseball perspective and 40 years experience around the big leagues.

The Brewers announced Nelson's new role as a television commentator and manager of Brewers Alumni Relations on Tuesday morning.

On telecasts of Brewers home games, Nelson is to offer comments during the pregame and post-game segments on FSN North.

Nelson, 62, was the first-base coach of the Brewers from 2003-'06. He was the Brewers' roving minor-league outfield instructor in 2001 and '02.

Nice to see Dave is still going to be with the organization. I guess this means Craig Coshun is gone?
