Alright, I have seen on few message Boards that USA Today reported that the Brewers have offered him a 4 year deal but I have looked all over there web site but couldn't find a word on it.
So to stay within Fanhome rules I'm posting this as speculation although it might be real but he would make a good enough signing to make an interresting discussion. So keeping that in mind what do you think? Would he make a good signing for the Brewers? |

I think he'd be a good signing. He would be pretty much guaranteed (as close as you can get) to give us 190 innings and would solidify our rotation. If we did sign him Melvin wouldn't have to demand starting pitching back for either Mench or Jenkins. |

Thanks for conforming that for me trwi7.
And I do agree it would make a good signing. He is a priven Starter that would fit in at 3 behind Sheets and Cappy and the Brewers look to add another proven Bullpen guy or two with Mench and Jenkins and if the brewers could add a few bullpen guy how big would that be. |

I find it encouraging that the Brewers name is mentioned in some big name free agents this winter. Normally I would be all for it but with the way the salaries are this year...eh… But I don’t think the free agent market will be any lower next season… so why not go for it? I would like him but realistically he could go as high as 12 or 14 million which is insane.

Brewers hope Suppan is steadying influence on staff
When Jeff Suppan suits up for the Milwaukee Brewers for the first time in spring training, manager Ned Yost expects other members of his pitching staff to watch the way the veteran right-hander goes about his business. "There's no substitute for consistency," Yost said. "He brings that to the ballpark every single day." Suppan agreed Sunday to a free-agent deal for four years plus an option, guaranteeing him $42 million. And while Yost has no first-hand knowledge of how Suppan prepares himself on a daily basis to do his job, he has seen the results on the mound. And how. "It hasn't been fun to watch from our side because he was always sticking it to us," said Yost, whose club went 2-12 against Suppan during the three seasons he pitched for National League Central rival St. Louis. "But, still, you have to have an appreciation for the way he executes every pitch." JSONLINE |
