Default Weeks won't be moved to the OF

The Brewers have hit a bunch of dead ends in their search for a center fielder. Would they even consider the notion of moving not-so-slick-fielding second baseman Rickie Weeks to that spot?
Don't bet on it.

"We can find a center fielder," manager Ned Yost said Wednesday at the Winter Meetings. "The lure of having an above-average offensive second baseman is a big deal. If you can have a second baseman with Rickie's capabilities, you're ahead of the game.

I can't completely agree with this 100%. Why not move Bill Hall to 2nd and move Weeks to CF?

Yeah I agree. I would move Hall to 2B and use Weeks' speed to our advantage in CF.

I do agree with yost. Weeks is going to be the Best Secound Basemen in the League in a year or two. All he needs is the experence to get there.

Having an elite Secound Baseman is a Bonus for there just not too many of them and the Brewers owe Weeks all the chance to reach that.

Anyway, The offseason is still young and there still is time to find some answers for Centerfield.

Yeah we don't have a lot of good second basemen coming up. Iribarren is the best young one but can't come close to doing what Hall or Weeks can do.

But if we put Bill Hall at second he would be one of the top second baseman in baseball if not the top. And you need to be a better defender to play second than outfield (generally speaking) so why not Hall. I don't know I’m just playing devil's advocate. So I don't completely agree with Yost's thinking. I personally don't think Rickie will end up playing the majority of his career at second. You can’t always sacrifice defense for offense at a position. But with Bill Hall we can retain both. By no means am I saying if Weeks got moved to the outfield it would be easy for him. But moving him to the outfield would speed up his overall development as a player. By being more confident in the field could increase his offensive potential even more.

Not that I don't understand but you know Robin Yount in 1975 his secound year had 44 errors.

The point is yount was known as a great defender throughout his carrer but his first few years it was a problem for him.

The point I'm making is that is quit common for hitters where there Bat offen becomes Major League ready before there glove does.

So I'm saying he will get better as a defender even if you don't notice it. In fact it might have already happen making it a mute discussion. No one may have notice but before he had his season ended injury he had a long strike in June and July of errorless games.

So you can't say that it isn't possable that he could atless become a good defender.
