Melvin doesn't see DeJesus headed his way - Brewers Blog

Quote:
As promised, I asked Brewers general manager Doug Melvin if he had any thoughts of obtaining Kansas City outfielder David DeJesus, who reportedly is on the trading block. Melvin did indeed admit to asking about DeJesus at the winter meetings in Nashville in early December.

But Melvin said the Royals were looking for a right-handed hitter in exchange at the time and appeared to satisfy that need by signing free agent Jose Guillen. Melvin said he does not believe the Royals at this time are looking to move the speedy DeJesus, a centerfielder by trade who might have fit in left field with the Brewers.

"I don't think they're going to move him," said Melvin. ""They're not shopping him with us."
