MILWAUKEE -- The Baltimore Orioles claimed reliever Greg Aquino off waivers on Friday, days after the Brewers inked Aquino to a one-year contract.
Aquino and the Brewers had avoided a potential arbitration hearing when they agreed to a contract that would pay $500,000 in the Major Leagues and $176,000 in the Minors. He split last season between the Brewers and Triple-A Nashville.

"We would have liked to have Aquino in the Minor Leagues, invite him to big league camp and have him fight for a job," Brewers general manager Doug Melvin said. "But at some point, you had to get him through waivers."

There is no question of me hinding that I'm happy to see him go for I viewed him as worthless in his time with the Brewers and I wish the orioles luck at staging comebacks in games that he pitches.

Couldn't agree more, Aquino costed the Brewers several games last season. I won't miss seeing him suit up for us at all, the guy at times had no control and couldn't find the strike zone.
