Brewers acquire three players in Rule 5 Draft

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers today selected three players in the Rule 5 Draft at the Major League Baseball Winter Meetings in Nashville, Tennessee. The Brewers also lost two players at the event.
Right-handed pitcher Joe Bateman was selected in the first round of the Triple-A phase of the draft off the Double-A Connecticut roster of the New York Yankees. Bateman, 27, went 4-1 with a 2.88 ERA in 29 relief appearances with Connecticut last season.
Right-handed pitcher Richard Campbell was selected in the second round of the Triple-A phase off the Double-A Harrisburg roster of the Washington Nationals. Campbell, 26, went 3-5 with a 4.91 ERA and 9 saves in 47 relief appearances with Harrisburg last season.
Right-handed pitcher Juan Sandoval was selected in the third round of the Triple-A phase off the Double-A West Tenn roster of the Seattle Mariners. Sandoval, 26, went 2-6 with a 5.74 ERA and 3 saves in 40 appearances (1 start) between West Tenn and Triple-A Tacoma last season.
