Arrow Brewers lose second baseman Crabbe

Brewers lose second baseman Crabbe - Brewers Blog

Quote:
Nashville - The Brewers' 40-man roster is full, so they didn't make any selections this morning in the Rule 5 draft of unprotected players.

The Brewers did lose one player in the major league phase of the draft. Callix Crabbe, a second baseman who played last season at Class AAA Nashville, was chosen by the Seattle Mariners.

Teams who pick a player pay $50,000 to the orginal team and must keep him on its big league roster throughout the next season or offer him back. Crabbe, 24, batted .287 with nine homers and 38 RBI in 130 games at Nashville. He played 83 games at second as well as 38 games in the outfield, showing his versatility.

What a shame, I know you lose players to the Rule 5 Draft once in awhile but Callix Crabbe is a player that I had my eye on for a long time as I keep up on him sence he join the Brewers minor league systom and was a player that I happen to like and I'm a litten sad that he never got the chance to make it to Milwaukee.

But I wish him well and I hope one day he gets the chance to come back.
