Arrow Brewers Linebrink sign with White Sox

Linebrink reported to sign with White Sox

According to reports out of Chicago, Brewers free agent reliever Scott Linebrink has agreed to a deal with the White Sox.

The report said Linebrink agreed to a deal for four years and $19 million, depending on him passing a physical. That's an amazing contract for a 31-year-old pitcher with a lot of mileage on his arm, and shows why the Brewers never got into serious negotiations with him.

The Brewers sent three minor league pitching prospects to San Diego in late July for Linebrink, who went 2-3 with a 3.55 ERA in 27 relief appearances after the trade. Now, the Brewers will get two 2008 draft picks in return -- Chicago's second-round pick next year and a compensatory pick after the first round.
