I am not a Ned Yost apologist. Some of his decisions definitely leave you scratching your head.
Yost has had five years to prove he is the right man to lead the Brewers and I don't think he has convinced anyone of that beyond a reasonable doubt. But having said all that, I still believe he deserves to be the Brewers' manager when they open the 2008 season. A winning record and an eight-game improvement from last year is enough to give Yost another shot. The pitching staff was a mess all season, and not all of it was Yost's fault. Capuano being that bad was unexpected. Then when they were struggling, EVERYONE in the bullpen was getting bombed...what was he supposed to do? Everyone was giving up the big hits...We needed another quality bullpen pitcher, or SP from the start of the season to cover up all those games we blew that we could have been at LEAST 10 games better this year.
