This is a website run by Jacqueline Dupree of the Post. She's got more stuff related to the stadium than anyone I know. |

I've never seen Edison (??) so I can't validate your comparison. I can tell you that the city is trying to mimic the look of the Verizon Center with the glass and limestone look - your typical looking office building in DC, straight lines and all. But due to budget constraints the limestone will be replaced by concrete.

DCFan, aren't you glad that Washington isn't going with another dime a dozen retro ballpark? Retro parks are nice but they all start to look the same after awhile. Go to one of them, and you've seen them all. I prefer individuality and distinction. That's part of what makes Wrigley Field and Fenway Park so popular today. It's not just their history, it's their quirky charm. I hope the architects of the new Washington stadium push for elegant uniqueness.

The stadium seems kinda plain and basic in my opinion. Nothing to exciting, or eye opening, good for D.C. fans and I bet they are excited however.

Very exciting. Not as good as the Pittsburgh Pirates PNC Park construction cam from the late 1990's -- but still great. |

There appears to be alot of similarities between this park, and the proposed
park that was supposed to be built in Montreal. I had a picture of it, but it is gone now. I got it off the old FH forum, if I remember right. Before we know it, the 2007 season will be here.

Most of the new stadiums have similarities.
I swear, the seating bowls of this stadium, Citifield (the Mets new park), the Phillies stadium, Jacobs Field, Coors Field and Busch Stadium could all be swapped between them. They're designed almost exactly the same. |
