The Yankees starting pitching staff clearly needed a boost, and Clemens will probably provide them one.
Clemens probably preferred playing with the Astros, but Houston isn't that great this season. It made sense for New York to do this move, and Clemens will get a nice paycheck in the process....

Finally New York Media finds the Mark....WFAN Morning show has the question..."Why Live at the Stadium?" and Suzyn Waldman Gushing Gushing Gushing with total unobjective admiration for humor relief ........reminding us Met fans to stay humble and ALWAYS worry about the Braves...not the Circus in the Bronx ...that kind of hubris usually comes back to bite one in the A$$.

What if there were a couple dozen of these guys in MLB---itinerant free agents. They just keep in shape and are available on a temporary basis to fill in wherever they are needed. Injury reserves, middle relievers, whatever. All the way up to the superstar pitcher who can get a million dollars a game. A team could carry a 24 man roster, and phone an iFA that fits their current need. There could even be one that lives in NYC, for example, and when you need him for a series against the Yankees or Mets or Phils or Red Sox, and it you let him know by 5-pm, he can be there suited up by game time. Maybe he could even hang out at the ball park, and if you use up too much of your bullpen, and go into extra innings, send somebody into the field boxes to tell him to put on a cup.

Yeah I hope for that every year too, but especially this year. I wanna see $28 million dollars go down the drain out of George's wallet. Maybe then he will realize you can't win with a bunch of 35 year old players. This isn't a 35 and over league George. You need young talent to win. The only young talent the Yankees have is Robinson Cano.
