Early game is Boston and Texas just about to begin. Best matchup of the day goes to the Braves and Mets, both coming off opening series sweeps of, respectively, divisin rivals Philidelphia and NL champs St. Louis. I'm skeptical of the Braves' ability to keep pace through the season, coming off an '06 where they finished 18 games behind New York. With both teams sitting 3-0 at the top, now's as good a time as any to prove Atlanta can make the NL East interesting.

First predictions
Red Sox at Rangers Mariners at Indians Diamondbacks at Nationals Orioles at Yankees Phillies at Marlins Pirates at Reds Blue Jays at Devil Rays Mets at Braves Cubs at Brewers Cardinals at Astros Tigers at Royals Rockies at Padres Athletics at Angels Dodgers at Giants On the GOTD The Mets v Braves matchup is quite similar to the early one this week between Oakland and Seattle. Both of those series could help shape the division later in the season. The Braves revamped bullpen gets tested with a hardhitting lineup, and both rotations will get to continue to show if they are 1+4 types or truly dominating.

I'm sorry I left for a while. I needed a vaction, and then work changed substantially. I'm over 50 hour weeks, plus two hours a day of commuting time. A few weeks ago I launched my own blog about Seattle Sounders FC and Life in Puget Sound. I won't be by these parts often as my focus has changed. Sorry about the unannounced retirement. |

The Phillies finally get off the losing column and win against the Fish.
