If we stop reading them it wont make a difference if people called and complaid or wrote letters something like that then they can get a good idea that he is not good at his job.

There's always one team in these lists that makes you say "huh"? and in this case it's the Red Sox. This is a team last year that allowed more runs than it scored, and now they're the fifth best team in baseball because they added a Japanese pitcher with a cool name, plus the immortal Julio Lugo?
Er, no. |

Papelbon's a fine pitcher but (a) isn't going to have a sub-1 ERA again and (b) is simply going to pitch more innings; they gain him in the rotation but lose his high-leverage relief innings. So basically you're telling me a .500 team is a great team because it added J.D. Drew, half of a good starter, and a pitcher who might be good but, then again, might not. Many of their 2006 weaknesses remain 2007 weaknesses. Gosh, J.D. Drew's a good player 110-120 games a year but he's not Babe Ruth. They sure look like an 88-74 team to me, assuming the additions do well, and if that's the fifth best team in baseball, I'm Lou Gehrig. They'd sure better hope David Ortiz hits 54 home runs again. |

I just dont agree with you at all Rick
They have a top 3 offense in baseball They have the best rotation 1-5 in the game, IMO And their BP is an unknown right now. If Pinero sticks @ closer or Hansen steps up and does what everyone thinks he can do then they are going to be extremely difficult to beat.

i agree with Nimajneb overall i would have to rank boston lower then what they are ranked right now they did add some good players to this team but i wouldn't say they are the best team on paper or even off of paper, they sould be lower but still in the top 10 easily

How are you goign to say that Boston is the best team in baseball on paper their are other teams that on paper look better then Boston. One of them which i hate to say because i hate them with all ymheart is the yankees mainly because when it comes down to it the yankees have the edge over them in pitching all Boston has is Shilling, Beckett, Matsuzaka (who has been not as good as every thought of so far even though it is spring training), Wakefield, and either Papelbon (Who never started a game before in the MLB and who is coming back from injury) or Lester against the yankees who have Wang, Mussina, Pettitte (he is getting older but still has the stuff), Pavano (Also coming back from an injury and hasn't started in a while, Igawa (Has to prove himself first and it starts with spring training.
So you tell me what looks better and not because you like them or you hate the other team because i'm one of the biggest yankee haters here. 1. Schilling vs Wang I personally give it to Wang 2. Beckett vs Mussina I give this one to Mussina 3. Matsuzaka vs Pettitte I give this to Pettitte 4. Papelbon vs Pavona Close on but i give it to Papelbon 5a. Wakefield vs Igawa Close again but Wakefield 5b. Lester vs Igawa I give it to Lester

Wow, I don't think I could ever see someone think that the pathetic Yankees rotation of oft-injured, aging, or one year wonders versus the Red Sox and see the Sox as worse...now I have.

Matsuzaka shouldn't be unknown. I would say that during the merger era there was as much written about Daisuke as any other pitcher in the game.
Keeping tabs on Daisuke Matsuzaka - www.scout.com garstar goes by Jim Potable here
