According to Tom Verducci of SI.com, Barry Bonds told the Giants this winter through his agent that he has no plans to retire after the 2007 season and probably won't after the 2008 season either. He first asked the Giants for a realistic option for 2008, but didn't get it. Verducci says that Bonds's agent has raised the possibility of 1,000 home runs. Maybe Bonds doesn't like the idea of A-Rod coming along and passing his record? Barry Bonds is 42 years old and needs 266 home runs to reach 1,000. Will Bonds have what it takes to reach the 1,000 home run mark?
i laugh at this because best case scenario he can get back to 40 HR's a year which means he would have to play another 6+ years - there is no way his body will hold up that long so i say no way this will happen
