with Cal Ripkin and Tony Gwynn going into the Hall after playing an entire career with one team, it got me thinking. is that going to happen ever again in today's world of the traveling superstar?
the only ones i can think of that this may occur in today's batch of players is Jeter and Rivera but i think it's because the money is never the threat for them to leave nyc and they are so well embraced by the fans and media both. who else do you feel well have their career with one team? who is the Kirby Puckett, Schmidt, Bench, Brett, Ripkin or Gwynn of their era? I also think that Reyes and David Wright could and maybe Biggio John Smoltz Berkman Barry Larkin Bagwell

Never mind Smoltz and Bagwell
Smoltz was drafted by Detroit and traded for Doyle Alexander Bagwell was drafted by Red Soxs and traded for Larry Anderson Both trades were done to pursue a playoff push

They were drafted by them and traded which means that they are not one team one team means being drafted by that team and staying with them forever

this is the only thing i can find so far its a bit from the paper
Seattle Post-Intelligencer (scroll down): "GM Bill Bavasi said getting center fielder Ichiro Suzuki's name on a contract extension is a must. There have been reports out of Japan that have been dismissed that Ichiro won't be coming back after the 2007 season, but Bavasi said getting Ichiro to extend his stay 'is a top priority.'"
