Default Why the MVP Will Never Be the MVP

Scroll to the bottom of the page.

What happened is not a surprise.

Interesting.

If either Jeter or Morneau wins the MVP, it may well be the last time in the era of "Arena Baseball" that a player who doesn't hit at least 30 home runs wins the MVP award. It really is a different game.

I think he meant "Mauer" and not "Morneau", but it's true that chicks seem to dig the long ball more than usual. But don't forget in 1962 when Maury Wills beat Hank Aaron in the MVP race with just six home runs and 48 RBIs (Aaron hit 45 home runs and had 128 RBIs).

Of course, that was 45 years ago...

Yes, I meant Mauer. I will make the correction.

It was amazing to discover that Marion hit only .267 and was MVP. Despite that fact that it was war baseball, it still is amazing.

Yes. I use the name LouGehrig, my favorite player. The article is posted at my blog.

This site seems great. I post a lot at baseball-almanac.com and enjoy writing about baseball.
