Given the passion and intelligence of this forum, and Fanhome as a whole, I'm hoping that some of you will make a point of being involved in this article/survey/open letter to Selig and Fehr. It will get considerable media coverage given the notables, and there will be a media blitz associated with it. Given that, I hope that this open letter serves its purpose
As we come to the end of 2006, MLB is flourishing on many levels, but as with everything on this earth... nothing's perfect. To that end, I have contacted a number of notable people that work in and around MLB and asked them one question... What's right and wrong with MLB? Next week I'll be publishing thoughts from people like Rob Neyer of ESPN, Tim Lemke who is the sports busniess reporter from the Washington Times, legendary front office icon Buzzie Bavasi, Alex Belth of SI.com, Salon magazine's King Kaufmann, ESPN's Gary Gillette, Baseball Prospectus' Nate Silver and Joe Sheehan, former Dodger GM Fred Claire, as well as noted sports economists Andrew Zimbalist and Roger Noll, just to name a handful of those that already committed to adding their comments. Now, it's your turn... Post here what is right and wrong with MLB. Don't take the easy road out of this... you have to answer what is good and not so good. One posting will be selected to be in the article along with the rest of these notable individuals. Depending on the turnout and quality of the comments, I may link to the thread to allow everyone to see. Format:
Thanks, and I look forward to your comments. |
