Default Canseco: A-Rod tried to sleep with my wife.

Quote:
NEW YORK -- Jose Canseco says in his new book that he introduced Alex Rodriguez to a steroids distributor and that A-Rod pursued Canseco's wife, according to the Web site of freelance writer Joe Lavin.

Lavin says on his Web site that he obtained the book, "Vindicated: Big Names, Big Liars, and The Battle to Save Baseball," on Monday from a bookstore in Cambridge, Mass. The book is due to be released April 1.

Lavin writes Canseco's book discusses A-Rod, Roger Clemens and Magglio Ordonez.

He says Canseco claimed he didn't inject Rodriguez but "introduced Alex to a known supplier of steroids." Lavin also says "Canseco claims that A-Rod was trying to sleep with Canseco's wife."

Well, I guess this is A-Rod's "type."

More intiguing is that Canseco points out WHY Clemens was being protected, or at least Jose's theory

Quote:
Roger Clemens was from Texas. He went to play for the Astros, to be close to his family. George W. Bush, a former owner of the Texas Rangers baseball team, is, like Clemens, a proud Texan. Clemens is a personal friend of Bush Sr. and his wife, Barbara. Clemens still has a standing invitation from Bush Jr. to visit the White House anytime. Getting the picture? Maybe the president of the United States, or his daddy, the ex-president, made some calls and took care of things for good ole Roger.
Of course, Lavin is an admitted humor writer

Also, supposedly Mike Wallace wants to go on the juice.

I don't buy it considering the source. He said everyone and their uncle wanted to go on the Juice and he was only too happy to oblige them when they came to him.

Could I buy a conspiracy theory about Clemens? yeah but nto him and being an Astro conspiracy. It's the same conspiracy that kept Bonds from being busted -- the onwers were making money because of the players juicing and they weren't goign to stop it.

Jose Canseco is the man! I mean, if this is true or not you have to admit the guy is entertaining. He's always coming up with new accusations and they get crazier each time!

Didn't Canseco have a fling with Madonna when he was married to a previous wife?

I agree. Also, how many years into Arod's career was it before he and Canseco played together? I mean, why would he want to juice, what, five years after he was already the best player in the game?

Jose Canseco is like a child yelling "pay attention to me! Hey grandpa! Look, look grandpa!"

As an Oakland fan who grew up in the 80s, it gets harder and harder to watch him continue to hang around. I wish he'd just go away.

Yup. He also - and this is to his benefit -- made a lump of change off of tech stocks during the tech bubble. I don't know how much he lost after the bubble burst.

Good analogy with Canseco being the kdi trying to get his grandfather's attention. how many other players have hit the big time, flared out and were man enough to fade away -- even when faced with controversey? Mark McGwire is in hiding and I don't doubt he took performance enhancers. That beign said he's man enough not to keep demanding the spotlight.

You don't see Cecil Fielder getting angry that his son is popular now, you don't see Ryne Sandberg and Howard Johnson participating in one type or another of reality television shows to relive their famous years...

Jose Canseco and "Publicity Whore" go hand in hand.

man enough? mcgwire has slinked away in shame. nothing manly about it.

selfish motives notwithstanding, canseco has done more to highlight the drug problem, and therefore has responsibility in the move to correct it, than just about anyone.

but yes, canseco is a spotlight whore.

Jose Canseco has no interest in "correcting" the steroid problem. If you read his first book, he admits as much several times. In fact, he writes that he wants MLB to embrace steroids.

Jose Canseco is interested in Jose Canseco.
