What do you think the odds are that A-Rod will pass Bonds in career home runs?
Remember that several players have looked like a sure shot for 700 HR in mid-career (Foxx, Mathews) or even later on (McGwire, Sosa). Or injuries have come into play (Griffey, Mantle). Even the ultra-consistent Willie Mays, who hit 52 HR at age 34 and 37 HR at age 35, never hit 30 HR after that, surpassing 23 HR only once. |

I would say the odds are pretty good that starting next year in "The House That A-Rod Buiilt", he will find it relatively easy to hit homers. How much income will it be worth to the Yankees to have one of theirs approaching a record held by Barry Bonds? Do you think the national media might pay a bit of attention to that? A-Rod will probably be the DH in a couple of years, to reduce the risk of injuries. You can't let that golden egg go unlaid.
