Players aren't inducted as anything. Players who played for more than one team are asked which cap they want on their plaque. It used to be up to the player, but after Carter insisted on the Mets, a big stick arose and the Hall now decides after consulting with the player.

That also reminds me, I caught a batting practice home run barehanded in the mid-'80s from Bobby Grich on the Angels at Oakland Colliseum. There were about ten people around me, and it was just low enough that I was the only one who could reach it.
