Default LA Times: Lakers' road tests lie ahead

Quote:
Given their numerous injuries in training camp — and the lengthy, uncertain recovery process of one particular knee — few people thought the Lakers would get off to an 11-5 start this season.

Except the Lakers themselves.

Weeks ago, when the games still didn't even count, Andrew Bynum said they would start out at least 15-5, Luke Walton said they could go all the way to the Western Conference finals, and, more recently, Lamar Odom shrugged after a 97-88 victory Saturday against the Clippers.

"We were a playoff team and we have a favorable schedule at home," Odom said, "so, not [surprised] at all."

They've had a cushy home heavy schedule and have taken care of business (that Bucks game not withstanding). How do you guys think they'll fair when they are playing more road games?

That's basically a question we will have to find out. The Lakers at times seem to be dominating at home. It is too obvious that the Lakers are playing to the crowd's cheer -That's one of the perks of a home field advantage. Now let's see what happens when they leave home and play to a hostile/booing crowd. Let's find out how calm and composed our young players playing on the road.

Yeah, I know there isn't really an answer. I'm just trying to generate some discussion on here for the Lakers fans.

I think they'll do okay. Obviously, I don't see them continuing at this pace, but I think a they can win 60% of their road games and be in good shape.

If Kobe's ankle is anything more than day to day, they may be in for some patches as the kids will definitely need the "general" on the floor on the road.

Since beating the Spurs, the Lakers have shown they can turn it up when needed to. While they may not win as many games on the road, they can at least split them and win the majority of home ones. That will be good for 50 wins minimum. Or so goes my opinion.
