The Los Angeles Kings have traded defenceman Jaroslav Modry to the Philadelphia Flyers for a third round pick.
A ninth round selection (179th) by the New Jersey Devils in 1990, Modry was traded to the Ottawa Senators for 4th round selection (Alyn McCauley) in 1995. The following year, the Czech Republic native was shipped to the Kings where he spent the next seven seasons before being signed as an unrestricted free agent by the Atlanta Thrashers. Modry was sent to Dallas, along with Patrik Stefan, in 2006 before returning to the Kings last season. This year, Modry's put up one goal and five assists with a plus- 2 rating in 61 games played. He will be an unrestrcited free agent at the end of the season. ![]()
