LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings have signed winger Dustin Brown to a US$19.05-million, six-year contract extension.
The deal averages out to $3.175 million a year, a big raise from the $1.175 million he's making this season. ''Dustin is an integral part of what we are building here with the Kings,'' Kings GM Dean Lombardi said in a statement. ''We like how he competes; we like his toughness; and we are very pleased with how his overall game has developed.'' Brown, 22, was chosen 13th overall by the Kings in the 2003 NHL entry draft. He has eight points (4-4) in 11 games this season. Last year he recorded a career-high 46 points (17-29) in 81 games. He will earn $2.6 million next season, $2.45 million in 2009-10 and $3.5 million for each of the remaining years on the contract. ![]()
