Jonathan Bernier is heading back to junior hockey.
Sources tell TSN the Los Angeles Kings are in the process of returning the 19-year-old underage netminder to Lewiston of the Quebec League. He is expected to be back with his junior team as early as tomorrow. Bernier played last night in the Kings' 4-1 loss to Detroit, after coming off a tough outing on Friday night, when he and the Kings were beaten 8-6 by the Boston Bruins. As well as Bernier has played at times this season, the Kings feel his long-term interests are best served by playing his final year of junior eligibility. ![]()
