Default The 2007 Dodgers Lineup

Well, so far it looks like this:

Pierre
Furcal
Garciaparra
Kent
Ethier???
Kemp/Werth???
Martin
Betemit

The Pierre acquisition is strange. He was acquired to be the lead-off hitter, but honestly, at least statistically, he should bat towards the end of the lineup. His OBP is to bad for the top of the lineup, UNLESS he gets back to that .370 level.

I really hope Colletti signs another power bat, to hit behind Kent. Carlos Lee is off the market, so there's not many guys left.

Anyone see a different lineup than that?

Default here you go my friend:

ss Furcal S (led off last year, shouldn't change)
cf Pierre L
1b Garciaparra R
RF MAnderson L (had 7HRs in just 64 AB, hopefully can keep up with it...)
2b Kent R
LF Ethier L (hits lefties well so no platoon)
3b Betemit S
C Martin R

bench: c Hall (might be non-tendered, backup needed?), 1b/3b Saenz,
IF Martinez, RF/1b Loney, OF Repko, OF Werth/Kemp

SP-DLowe, Penny, Billingsley, Hendrickson(L), Kuo(L)
Middle-Dessens, Tomko
CP-Saito
Setup-Broxton, Beimel(L)
+ Brazoban/Hamulack(L) or Maddux as 11th pitcher

What do you think of the trade proposal I made in the Reds thread (Dunn for Ethier and one of your righties, Penny or Billinsgley), you need lh power don't you?

Well, Furcal is not leading off, Pierre is. It should be Furcal, I agree, but it's not going to be.

With regards to your offer, I love it. Although, it'd have to be Bad Penny. The Dodgers are not going to give up Billingsley. Dunn would be great, add some pop to this lineup.

Bad penny looool!
I'll take him, always have liked the guy since his Marlins' days...
I like Ethier, I like Penny, I hate Dunn you like him, go for it Krivsky!

do you have any Saito clones in your farm system to help us at closer? (righty needed), or is there any chance Gagne signs from close to home (Quebec) to an incentive-laden deal?

The problem with Penny is his health.

He had an interesting year. First half of the season, he was lights out. He had absurd number of ground ball outs. So the law of averages kicked in and he exploded in the second half of the season. But here's the interesting part: he hadn't pitched a full season in a long time, so his fly ball tendencies might be explained.

The talent is there, now he just needs to stay healthy and not tire him arm. Easy? No...
