You mean to tell me the Dodgers getting Joe Torre and stealing a Yankee Standard in Don Mattingly doesn't earn a single post on this forum?

I guess not! Anyway this was a great move by the Dodgers to bring Joe Torre in. He has proven he is one of the best managers in baseball and he can handle just about any obstacle thrown at him. Unlike other managers he keeps his problems in the clubhouse.
I'm going out on a limb and am going to say the Dodgers will, and I repeat will make the playoffs next season with Joe Torre at the helm.

They've been on the cusp off and on since 1988 with breaking through and having something spectacular but it's just been a dynasty of near misses.
The coach doesn't mean everything but it means a lot. Will Torre swim, or sink like Davey Johnson, the other high profile coach hired in the post-Lasorda era in LA?
