Lot of talk about Shields going to Cleveland to be their closer in exchange for Trevor Crowe...there may be more names not mentioned. The rumor came out of The Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Cleveland and the Angels could have a terrific swap-meet because each have surplus where the other has needs. |

Trevor Crowe, I just found out, is an outfielder with great speed and glove. He hits for average and projects to hit at least 15 HRs in the majors. He is kind of like Reggie Willits but bigger and stronger and yet blazing speed.
He was a high draft pick and is the son of a great golf pro. He is a natural centerfielder with an average arm. Last I heard he ranks #3 in the Indians top 10 prospects. He is 23 years of age. Scouts like him a lot. |

Thanks, punxsy.
With that info in mind, it makes sense for the Angels to give up Shields for a Trevor-type player. They need outfield help, and a good bat. I think the Angels miss GA's production a lot, and while Trevor might not produce GA power numbers, he would hit for average... |

Personally, I believe Shields has a lot more value in this market than Trevor Crowe. As loaded as the Angels system is (despite it's lack of OF prospects), I just don't see the Halos trading Shields for so little.

Angels really do not have any really bright prospects for the outfield...especially centerfield...Crowe, from what I read lately, is outstanding. |

GMJ has a five year contract but it doesn't necessarily mean he will be here thje whole time. |

I think Shields will be traded for the best offer to a team in need of a closer. As to who..is anybody's guess. |

I would fully expect that if the Angels trade Sheilds it will be part of a package to bring a dynamic player back. Not a prospect, but a Hall of Famer.
