Escobar lands on DL

At the same time, the Angels have transferred the contract of right-handed pitcher Steven Shell from double-A Arkansas to Salt Lake. This seems to happen every year with Escobar. I wish he'd get over his arm troubles.

If only Stoneman and club could know which games he's going to miss. If they could plan which 20 games he would start the team would be so much better off.

The real question is why would Stoneman give an injury prone pitcher a three year contract extension.

The question is still valid. Escobar will continue to breakdown and the Angels will continue to pay him not to pitch. Is anybody really going to miss Stonehead?

Escobar has been a productive pitcher even if he misses 4-8 starts a year. This overall was a solid signing.

It could have been worse -- Does Carl Pavano mean anything?

Some threads are reporting that Escobor is done for the season and maybe career. Torn rotator cuff. Hope his contract is insured.

probably only about half of his deal.

Fully insured pitching contracts are impossible
