F-Rod may leave after '08

Francisco Rodriguez didn't exactly go Carlos Zambrano on the Los Angeles Angels Thursday, but the closer did hint at the possibility of pitching elsewhere if the team doesn't secure him to a multiyear contract before he becomes a free agent after 2008.

Talks with Paul Kinzer, Rodriguez's agent, failed to net a long-term deal last winter, and the sides haven't agreed on a multiyear contract this winter.

Arbitration was avoided when Rodriguez signed a one-year, $7-million deal in January.

Great pitcher, would be excellent to keep obviously. He will want a lot of money, but in my opin may be worth it...

The 2008 offseason is a long way off, I'm fairly certain something will get done before that.

I will probably get laughed off of the board but I think he will go down as the greatest closer to ever play the game. Mo included.

I predict he gets extended in ST.

The good thing is that Mo's walk year is this year and both the Yanks and Red Sox will be looking for a closer at the end of the year one way or the other.

We're probably biased, but he's definitely done nothing to show different. Frankie is doing the things that Mariano Rivera did, but at 4 years younger! As long as his arm holds up, he's got a chance to be the best ever.
