Default Tim Kurkjian: Angels one of top 5 rotations

According to Tim Kurkjian from ESPN, the Angels may not have the best rotation in the majors, but they're close....

Quote:
Angels: They have five quality major league starting pitchers if Bartolo Colon rebounds from rotator cuff surgery. The Angels starters' 4.16 ERA was second best in the AL last year, and now they'll have Jered Weaver for a full season. They didn't trade Ervin Santana for a reason; he has a chance to be really good.

Default Tim K

I really like Tim K's work but he kind of blew it last year at the trade dealine. He reported the Soriano to the White Sox rumors.

As for the rotation I think it is better than Boston's and might only be bested by the Tigers. Very close ERA wise though.

MLB.com also believes the Angels rotation is one of the best in the league....

Quote:
No. 3 -- Los Angeles Angels
The Angels' rotation is once again deep and talented even with Bartolo Colon on the mend. Angels starters had the second-best ERA (4.16) of any rotation in the American League last season, gave up fewer homers (109) and held opposing hitters to a lower batting average (.259) than any team in the AL. John Lackey (13-11, 3.56 ERA, 217 2/3), Kelvim Escobar (11-14, 3.61 ERA, 189 1/3), Ervin Santana (16-8, 4.28 ERA, 204) and Jered Weaver (11-2, 2.56 ERA, 123) are all potential 20-game winners. Joe Saunders is expected to handle the other rotation spot until Colon returns.
All potential 20 game winners. That's some pretty high praise. Now, if only they could all be 20 game winners in the same season!

LMAO Cleveland? Are you for real MLB? Cleveland? This is the only place I have seen praise heaped on their rotation.
