The Angels have agreed to a 5 year/$50 million deal with Gary Matthews, Jr.
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/6198342 If this is Stoneman's big off-season move, I feel an angry letter to the LA Times percolating.... |

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense. I figured the Speier and Resop pick ups were in preparation for a big trade involving Shields (and others) ... not to give a 32-year-old journeyman who had ONE good season $50 million over 5 years. It's like Stoneman is daring Moreno to fire him....

one of the worst contracts ever..
32.. hell be 38 when its over.. r u kidding me? the guys had ONE great season in his career and then a whole bunch of mediocre ones.. everyone plays better in a contract year.. and he gets 5/50??? thats not very stoneman-esque.. |

I am very surprised by how much GMJ got from Angels. I just prey that he has the same type of production that he had last year. Sometimes, it takes players a few years to blossem into good major league hitters. Hoefully this is the case with CMJ. We know he will play a great centerfield.
