Just because the Winter meetings passed doesn't mean the Angels cannot seal a deal today or next week. Some rumored deals are still possibe (LaRoche, Helton, Chad Tracy).

I'm pretty sure the Helton deal is dead (good). I hope the Angels aren't giving up on Kotchman just yet, although LaRoche has proven that he's already got the skillset the Angels are hoping Kotchman will have. And Tracy would be a good option at 3B, although I don't know how much I'd give up for him.

Maybe Stoneman should just stick to his Montreal Expos roots and convince Andre Dawson to come out of retirement.

Today in foxsports.com/mlb Ben Maller sees a possible trade with the Pirates. Kotchman going to Pittsburgh for one of their fine young LHPs. Maholm, Duke or Gorzelanny.

My choice would be Gorzelanny but would accept either of the others if I had to.

This would make trading Saunders for Chad Tracy a real possibility.
