IMO, Bud will be an excellent manager, especially in an environment like San Diego where he doesn't have to worry about his kids moving, etc. He communicates very well and does a good job of maintaining a strong work ethic within his teams. I think Black will be very successful in San Diego.

I see Bud being very successfull with the Padres. Might be worth a trip down to San Diego for a game next season. |

Well, as a former catcher I think Scioscia knows how to handle pitchers on his own. So I'm not all that concerned about losing Black. Anybody know anything about possible replacements? I heard Charles Nagy might get the call up from Salt Lake, but that was a while ago.
And for the record, Top Cat, it's "Los Angeheim Angels" Useless trivia: as a pitcher, Nagy didn't miss a start from October 3, 1993 to May 16, 2000. Last edited by Laloosh; 11-22-2006 at 03:25 PM. |

Let's just say there's a reason why our pitching is so great. It's Black and his directiveness. |
