Priest Holmes retires

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- What drove Priest Holmes out of the NFL is something most football players try to drive out of their thoughts.

They know it's a dangerous, violent endeavor that can leave them unable to walk. Holmes, after making one of the most improbable comebacks in NFL history, decided that as much as he loves the game, it wasn't worth the risk of a paralysis.

So the former Pro Bowl running back retired on Wednesday, thanking the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL for all they had done.

It was nice to even see him back on the football field, but it was clear he wasn't the same after his injury two years ago. Good move to decide to walk away from the game before possibly dangering his personal life and himself.

He would have had a huge week though against the Raiders if he would have played though! They have the worst rush defense in the league...Would have been kind of cool to have him rush for 100 yards and then retire, but that would be dangering his body

He had a good career nut its not likely a hall of fame career.
