Default Warriors-Pacers Preview

Quote:
The Indiana Pacers and Golden State Warriors completed a blockbuster trade less than three weeks ago that shook up their respective lineups. Now, one team is going for its longest winning streak of the season while the other is still trying to get on track.

The Pacers host the Warriors on Monday in the first meeting between the squads since their eight-player trade on Jan. 17.

Indiana (26-21) sent Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Sarunas Jasikevicius and Josh Powell to Golden State (22-26) for Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod.

Default Warriors Dominate Pacers in First Game Since Trade

Quote:
INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 5 (AP) -- Indiana fans booed Stephen Jackson all game long.

Perhaps they shouldn't have - it made him feel right at home.

Jackson often was booed as a Pacer for various off-the-court offenses, and he got more of the same when he returned to Conseco Fieldhouse with Golden State. He shrugged it off and scored a season-high 36 points as the Warriors beat Indiana 113-98 on Monday night.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, those 36 points were the most by any player against a team he was traded by in the same season since Vince Carter scored 39 for the Nets against the Raptors in 2005.

Default Ex-Pacer Jackson lights up former team

Quote:
Stephen Jackson scored a season-high 36 points against his former team, and the Golden State Warriors beat the Indiana Pacers 113-98 on Monday night.

Jackson was a key part of the eight-player trade between the teams on Jan. 17, and this was the first meeting between the teams since.
Al Harrington, another player involved in the trade, had 16 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Andris Biedrins added 10 points and 15 rebounds for the Warriors.

Jermaine O'Neal led the Pacers with 24 points and 10 rebounds, and Jamaal Tinsley added 22 points and 10 assists. Mike Dunleavy, traded from Golden State, had 11 points and 13 rebounds for Indiana.

Default Jackson stuffs boos in basket

Quote:
He was booed. He gestured to the fans to be quiet by putting his finger to his mouth after getting to the lane for layups. He held his shooting form in the air an extra few seconds after knocking down 3-pointers.

Former Indiana Pacers guard Stephen Jackson got the last laugh Monday night when he scored a season-high 36 points in the Golden State Warriors' easy 113-98 victory at Conseco Fieldhouse.

By the end of the night, Jackson was slapping hands with the few fans who appreciated his performance as he jogged through the tunnel following a postgame interview.

Default Jackson makes his statement

Quote:
INDIANAPOLIS - Warriors forward Al Harrington made no secret that he desperately wanted to put up huge numbers Monday night against his twice-former team, the Indiana Pacers.

The only thing he wanted more was for teammate Stephen Jackson to do him one better.

Jackson delivered in bulk, dropping a season-high 36 points on his ex-employer in a 113-98 victory that breathed some new life into a Warriors team that was missing guards Baron Davis and Monta Ellis due to injuries by game's end.

Default Many happy returns

Quote:
Stephen Jackson didn't care that Pacers fans were booing him every time he touched the ball. By the end of the first quarter, Jackson had them booing their team for failing to guard him.

The ex-Pacer scored a season-high 36 points to lead the Warriors to a 113-98 upset of Indiana in their first matchup since last month's eight-player swap.

And as much as Jackson tried to downplay his return to Conseco Fieldhouse beforehand, he couldn't help but join Al Harrington in embracing the grudge match afterward.
